The Société de transport de Montréal announced on Tuesday that it will increase the number of police constables and other responders deployed on the metro system and will restore a five‑minute train interval during evenings and weekends.
The additional personnel are meant to strengthen safety and security throughout the subway network, which has been dealing with ongoing safety concerns.
Restoring the five‑minute interval will allow trains to run more frequently on evenings and weekends, improving service reliability for riders.
