Students gathered in Montreal and Quebec City on Saturday to demonstrate against the shortage of political parties that represent youth interests ahead of the upcoming Quebec general election.

The protesters said the existing parties do not reflect their views and pointed out that their age group has the lowest voter turnout in the election.

The demonstration took place two days before the scheduled vote, which historically records low participation among young voters.
