Tesla Canada has agreed to pay the driver’s insurer roughly $162,000 Canadian dollars after the electric vehicle caught fire in Montreal.
The fire started from within the car, leading the owner to file an insurance claim that resulted in the settlement.
The payout follows a number of recent electric‑vehicle fire incidents in which manufacturers have settled similar claims.
