On Thursday, October 1, 2026, thousands of seniors, family members and professionals working with older adults gathered for walks and marches in Parc Lafontaine in Montreal and in Quebec City to promote the well‑being of older adults. Approximately 1,500 participants assembled in Montreal and about 500 in Quebec City, forming part of a province‑wide event held in seven cities.

The gathering marked the sixth annual seniors’ well‑being march, organized to advocate for older adults across Quebec. Participants in both locations joined those in six other cities, bringing the total number of demonstrators to the thousands.

The event underscored a collective call for better support and conditions for seniors, with attendees ranging from older adults themselves to their families and the professionals who serve them.
