Transport Quebec announced that the southbound lane of the Highway 15 service road, known locally as Marie‑Victorin Boulevard, will be closed each night from September 28 to October 7, 2026, to allow paving work.
The closures affect the stretch of the service road that runs between the Samuel De Champlain Bridge area and Tessier Street in Montreal, Quebec, and apply only to the southbound direction.
Work will be carried out during the overnight hours, when traffic volume is lowest, to minimise disruption to commuters who use the busy corridor linking the bridge to the city’s central districts.
Drivers are advised that the southbound lane will be unavailable each night throughout the ten‑day period, and that they may need to use the adjacent northbound lane or alternative routes.
Transport Quebec’s announcement follows routine maintenance planning for the highway network, with the service road near the Samuel De Champlain Bridge slated for resurfacing to improve ride quality and safety.
Highway 15, a principal north‑south corridor through Montreal, carries a high volume of traffic daily, and its adjacent service road serves local vehicles accessing neighbourhoods along the route.
According to the schedule, work crews will begin paving operations each evening around 10 p.m., continue through the night, and finish by approximately 5 a.m., after which the lane will be reopened to traffic.
The project is being coordinated with the City of Montreal to ensure that signage and detours are in place, and that emergency services retain access throughout the construction period.
The paving is scheduled to be completed by the morning of October 7, allowing the service road to resume normal operations for the remainder of the week.
