International lawyers and diplomats gathered at the New York City Bar Association on Oct. 27, 2026, to describe the newly created Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression Against Ukraine as a historic opportunity to prosecute war crimes.
They said the tribunal offers a historic moment for prosecuting war crimes and could set a precedent for future charges.
The Special Tribunal was recently established to investigate and prosecute war crimes linked to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
