Mayor Mamdani pledged to finish a long‑delayed safety redesign of Brooklyn's Third Avenue by 2028.
The project covers a 2.1‑mile stretch between 20th and 62nd Streets beneath the Gowanus Expressway and is intended to meet community demands and address a history of fatalities along the corridor.
The redesign had been stalled for years under the previous administration before being revived by the new mayor.
