The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has pledged to convert the Grand Canal Court site in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood into a basketball court within 30 days of November 2, 2026.

The facility has remained closed to the public since 2022, leaving the area without a dedicated basketball venue.
