Pennsylvania unveiled its inaugural statewide agricultural plan aimed at mitigating farm losses, rising operating costs and a shortage of labor.
The plan comes as the Commonwealth recorded a 17% decline in the number of farms and an 8% reduction in farmland acreage between 2012 and 2022, a loss rate that is twice the national average.
