Arizona filed a motion to intervene in Nevada's lawsuit challenging recent Colorado River water cuts. The filing was made on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, in Nevada.

The lawsuit originates from a new operating plan issued by the federal government that reduces water allocations from the river. Arizona says the plan disregards key provisions of the Law of the River.

Nevada initially sued the federal government over the cuts, and Arizona now seeks to participate in that case.
