The Arizona Department of Public Safety said a vehicle collision on Loop 202 near Cooper Road left one person dead and another injured. The incident prompted authorities to close the freeway segment while the scene was secured.
Loop 202 serves as a key east‑west route across the Phoenix metropolitan area, and such accidents commonly result in temporary shutdowns for safety and cleanup operations.
