A violent overnight storm that moved through Mesa on Oct. 20-21 knocked trees onto parked cars, damaged a carport at an apartment complex and disabled stadium lights at a local park, causing power outages.
Strong winds across the Phoenix metropolitan area uprooted several trees, some of which fell onto vehicles and struck the apartment carport, while others hit the park’s stadium lighting system, rendering it inoperable.
The resulting loss of electricity affected nearby homes and facilities until restoration work could begin.
