Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that New York State has awarded more than $18.6 million to ten downtown Albany projects. The funding is part of the state’s $400 million Championing Albany’s Potential initiative, a comprehensive effort to revitalize the city’s core.
The $18.6 million allocation will be directed toward adding housing, upgrading public spaces, and encouraging private investment in the downtown area. The $400 million revitalization plan already includes $97.5 million earmarked for other components of the program.
