Capital Region Police Warn of Spike in Car Break‑Ins
Police recorded 20 car break‑ins in one week, many of which involved unlocked vehicles, and issued an alert reminding drivers to lock their cars.

Capital Region police, working with Green Island police, reported a total of 20 vehicle break‑ins during a single week in September 2026. Many of the incidents involved cars that were left unlocked.
The departments said they are monitoring the trend across neighborhoods and have issued a public‑safety alert urging motorists to lock their vehicles.
