The competition, a popular fall tradition in Saratoga, New York, also saw a runner‑up pumpkin at 1,821.5 pounds and a third‑place pumpkin at 1,674.5 pounds.
Growers Ernie Gustinucci and Tadd King were among the participants in the event, which draws both growers and visitors each year.
