Saratoga Rowing Association athletes Olivia Lill and Parker Mansfield returned from Plovdiv, Bulgaria, on Sunday with silver medals and a bronze from the under‑19 World Rowing Championships held Aug. 10–12, 2026. The two rowers competed under the United States flag and secured podium finishes in their events, marking a successful international outing for the Saratoga program.
Lill and Mansfield each entered the championship in separate boat classes, navigating the demanding 2,000‑meter course that challenges speed, endurance, and technical precision. Their performances earned them silver medals, while a third Saratoga athlete added a bronze to the tally. The medals represent the highest honors achieved by the club’s youth rowers at a global competition.
The under‑19 World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv attracted more than a dozen nations, featuring the world’s top junior athletes. The Saratoga competitors faced a field of seasoned rowers from Europe, Asia, and the Americas, contending with variable weather conditions on the Regatta Canal.
