The University of Washington Memory and Aging Center has introduced a new program in Seattle that supplies counseling, peer‑support groups and educational resources to younger adults diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and their families.

The service responds to the fact that about one in ten Alzheimer’s patients receive their diagnosis at an early age, a group that often feels isolated and frightened by the condition.

By offering these dedicated resources, the center seeks to lessen the isolation that can accompany memory loss among early‑onset patients.
