Seattle Parks and Recreation will begin construction on a new park at the West Seattle Junction in early December 2026 and is inviting the public to submit name ideas.
The park is scheduled to open in fall 2027. The city released the construction timetable four months after the project was put out to bid. The long‑landbanked site has been in planning for years.
The naming request is intended to involve the community in selecting a name for the new park.
