A woman entered a vehicle she believed to be her Uber in Kent, Washington, but after determining the driver was not an authorized rideshare operator, she exited the car by jumping out.
Seattle Police Department confirmed the incident occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, and identified the driver as an impersonator. Uber also acknowledged the report.
The department has warned that scammers are posing as rideshare drivers to lure passengers and said investigations are ongoing.
