The District of Columbia Council’s Judiciary and Public Safety Committee convened a public hearing on Oct. 27 to consider bills designed to strengthen protections for survivors of domestic violence.
Survivors and other stakeholders were invited to share their perspectives on the proposed legislation during the session.
Council members are reviewing the measures as part of an ongoing effort to enhance legal safeguards for victims of domestic abuse.
