State weather officials have issued freeze alerts for several New Jersey counties, including areas near Wildwood, as a cold front moving in from the north is expected to lower temperatures to the upper 20s to low 30s Fahrenheit over the weekend of Oct 17‑19, 2026.
The alerts indicate that these unusually low temperatures could pose a risk to sensitive outdoor plants and early‑season activities.
