New Jersey environmental researchers reported that testing of drinking water sources across the state in 2026 found synthetic PFAS chemicals in almost every sample.

The results show that contamination by these “forever chemicals” is widespread throughout the state's water supplies.

Because of the pervasive presence of PFAS, residents and visitors to Wildwood may receive water‑quality advisories in the future.
