On Sunday, October 18, 2026, the charity Crafting for a Cure announced it will close, ending a 25‑year effort to provide craft kits to hospitals.
In Winnipeg, volunteers assembled close to 3,000 kits that will be sent to children receiving care.
Founded by Pamela Bielak, the organization has supplied handmade craft kits to pediatric patients in hospitals across Canada since its inception.
