On October 31, 2026, the Winnipeg Police Service started an investigation after receiving two reports of metal pins embedded in Halloween chocolate bars. The reports came from the Garden City neighbourhood on the 900 block of Sinclair Street and from the Royalwood neighbourhood on High Ridge Road.
One of the incidents involved a mini Twix bar that contained a pin, prompting residents to alert police.
