The Winnipeg Police Service announced on Oct. 23 that it has halted the acceptance of tips through Crime Stoppers after a data breach compromised information submitted to the program.
Crime Stoppers normally allows the public to provide anonymous crime tips, but the breach of its data prompted police to stop using the service.
