On Oct. 23, the Winnipeg Police Service announced it has stopped accepting tip submissions via Crime Stoppers after a data breach compromised the tip system.
The police department, which has previously relied on Crime Stoppers for anonymous information, said it will try to receive anonymous tips directly through its own line where possible.
