YWCA Westman announced plans to construct a women’s campus in Brandon, Manitoba, with a budget of $40 million. The proposed site will offer domestic‑violence support services, emergency housing and will house the region’s first dedicated sexual‑assault examination space.
The development aims to provide a safe environment and specialized assistance for women and children facing domestic violence in southwestern Manitoba. At present, the area has no dedicated sexual‑assault examination facility, prompting the YWCA to create the new campus.
