The City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management, together with the Chattahoochee Water Treatment Plant, announced a boil water advisory on October 11, 2026 for portions of southwest Atlanta and adjacent municipalities. The advisory was issued because of an interruption in the water supply at the Chattahoochee Water Treatment Plant, which serves the metropolitan area.
Affected locations include neighborhoods in southwest Atlanta as well as the cities of South Fulton, Fairburn and Union City. The notice follows a disruption at the primary water treatment facility that provides service to the metro region.
