On October 30, 2026, Boston University students released more than 30 pumpkins from the roof of the Metcalf Science Center, sending them a distance of about 70 feet onto the plaza below as part of the campus celebration.
The pumpkin drop continues a yearly tradition in which students mark the occasion by tossing pumpkins from the science building.
