On October 25, 2026, more than 100 residents were evacuated from the CareOne nursing home at 178 Lowell Street in Boston after a major electrical failure caused a loss of power. Lexington fire crews, under the direction of Fire Chief Derek Sencabaugh, responded to the incident and assisted with the evacuation.
The power outage triggered the emergency response and the safe removal of residents from the facility.
