Voters in Chicago who have already received mail‑in ballots may deposit them in a mailbox to ensure the ballots arrive before Election Day on Nov. 3, 2026.
Local election authorities note that, although Illinois has closed applications for vote‑by‑mail, any ballot that has been mailed out can still be submitted by dropping it in a mailbox prior to the November 3 deadline.
