On Friday, Oct. 30, more than 1,000 members of Teamsters Local 727 voted to give themselves the authority to strike. The vote has sparked concerns that airports, major sporting venues and downtown traffic could face disruptions during the upcoming holiday period.
The union represents staff at many of Chicago’s busiest parking garages, so a work stoppage could affect travelers and event goers throughout the season.
