At about 11:30 a.m. on October 23, 2026, a semi‑truck struck a concrete barrier on I‑80 near La Grange Road in Mokena, causing two trailers to become detached and prompting a temporary shutdown of the westbound lanes.
Illinois State Police responded to the incident. The westbound traffic remained closed for several hours while crews cleared the detached trailers and repaired the barrier before traffic was restored.
