On Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation and the city began operating a pilot speed‑safety system that includes twenty automated cameras across Los Angeles. The devices will capture license plates of any vehicle traveling more than ten miles per hour over the posted limit.
The initiative is part of the city’s newly announced speed‑safety pilot program aimed at reducing speeding.
