Negotiators announced that the forthcoming Canada‑EU transatlantic agreement will not contain a comprehensive free labour movement, opting instead for a narrower approach.
The statement was made by Canada’s EU ambassador, indicating that both parties have decided against pursuing a full‑scale free labour provision in the pact.
Discussions on the new partnership continue this week, ahead of a summit scheduled in Montreal for later in October.
