On Wednesday, October 21, demolition work at the Canada Malting plant in Montreal’s Sud‑Ouest borough was stopped after a portion of the building collapsed.
The demolition, undertaken by the developer, had begun on Monday, October 19, as part of the removal of the former malting facility.
The collapse led to an immediate pause in the demolition activities.
