Montreal police chief Fady Dagher announced on Friday concrete steps to change the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal’s culture and to investigate and possibly prosecute the small fraction of officers accused of misconduct.
The plan focuses on roughly one percent of the force, identified as rogue officers, amid mounting accusations that have increased pressure on the police service.
These measures are introduced as the SPVM faces multiple allegations of wrongdoing, prompting internal reforms aimed at restoring public confidence.
