The city of Montreal announced a plan to acquire roughly 60 remote‑controlled security cameras and about 30 AI‑enabled licence‑plate reader cameras for deployment on city streets, totaling approximately 90 new cameras.
These devices will expand the municipal street‑level surveillance network with the added capabilities of remote control and automated licence‑plate reading.
