The Office municipal d’habitation de Montréal (OMHM) announced it will evict roughly twenty vulnerable families from their public housing units in Rivière-des-Prairies in about three weeks, as it begins a wave of demolitions of HLM buildings.

The planned removals are part of the municipal housing office’s broader demolition programme targeting older public‑housing complexes. The evictions are scheduled for mid‑November 2026, giving families roughly three weeks before the units are cleared.
