On November 13, 2026, the Office municipal d’habitation de Montréal began evicting roughly 20 vulnerable families from public housing units in Rivière-des-Prairies. The evictions are part of a demolition wave the authority is launching.

The families were given three weeks to vacate the units that are slated for demolition. OMHM, which oversees Montreal’s public housing, is clearing these units as part of the program.
