The prime minister announced that six federal byelections will be held on Dec 7, 2026. The schedule includes three Quebec ridings—Laurier—Sainte‑Marie, Rosemont—La Petite‑Patrie and Saint‑Hyacinthe—Bagot—Acton—along with three other constituencies across the country.
These elections are intended to fill vacant seats in the House of Commons for the six affected ridings, three of which are located in Quebec.
