On October 25, 2026, the historic Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal opened its renovated exterior to the public after roughly a decade of masonry and conservation work. More than 800 guests were present for the unveiling.

The restoration, performed by crews over about ten years, had kept the front of the building hidden behind scaffolding until today. The ceremony signaled the completion of the extensive work on the basilica’s facade.
