The city of Saint‑Lin‑Laurentides has partnered with Go Consigne to launch a home pickup service for beverage container deposits.
Residents who sign up will receive a tax credit and will be paid 62% of the deposit value for the containers they return.
The program is designed to encourage more residents to return bottles and cans, using a model permitted by Quebec’s deposit‑return system that allows municipalities to collaborate with private firms for household collection.
