The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) announced a programme to replace roughly sixty escalators across the city’s subway network and to repair one out of every five existing units by the year 2031, allocating about $200 million for the work.
The effort will be coordinated with new infrastructure projects tied to the planned extension of the Blue line.
