The Delivery Protection Act, backed by New York City politicians and the Alliance for a Greater New York (ALIGN), is intended to address safety concerns linked to the company’s delivery operations. Advocacy organizations are also urging the city to make a public map that tracks where the violations occurred.
Amazon maintains a large fleet of delivery vans throughout the city, and the high citation count has raised questions about the safety impact of its delivery system, as noted by city leaders.
