Bodega owners, along with grocers and business groups, are urging a revision of New York law so that neighborhood corner stores may sell wine and liquor in addition to the existing licensed liquor outlets.
The advocates say the change would broaden the range of alcohol products available to customers at local bodegas.
Under current regulations, sales of wine and spirits are limited to licensed liquor stores, preventing bodegas from offering those items.
