Chip City announced on October 1, 2026 that it was shutting down every one of its 24 locations across New York City, including sites in Astoria and Queens, with the closures taking effect immediately.
The cookie chain, which opened its first store in Astoria in July 2017, expanded over nine years to operate 24 outlets before the abrupt overnight shutdown.
The company said macro‑economic headwinds were the reason for ending operations at all sites.
