On the first Thursday of each month, teachers in New York City can visit a city‑run warehouse to collect classroom supplies at no charge.
The warehouse, covering 35,000 square feet on Northern Boulevard in Queens, is stocked with items such as dinosaur masks, easels and a variety of other materials teachers need.
Shoppers can fill shopping carts with the available goods, and the inventory includes 1,000 top hats among the assorted supplies.
