Construction crews have started precise repair work on the former Pfizer Building in Midtown Manhattan, lifting sagging floors to stabilize two structural columns that bent in July.

The crews are jacking the floors upward by approximately 1/64 inch to correct the sag caused by the bent columns.

The repairs address damage that occurred when the two key columns bent in July 2026, resulting in the observed floor sagging.
