Mayor of New York City announced a long‑term repair project for the deteriorating triple cantilever segment of the Brooklyn‑Queens Expressway that runs along the Brooklyn Heights waterfront. The plan calls for a temporary highway to be routed through Brooklyn Bridge Park while work on the expressway is carried out.
The triple cantilever portion of the BQE has been identified as being in poor condition, prompting city officials to seek a permanent solution.
